A notable shift in weather patterns has unfolded across the entire state of West Bengal, including the capital city Kolkata, with a remarkable increase in temperature by seven to eight degrees Celsius within the span of 24 to 48 hours. According to the Meteorological Department's Thursday report, the minimum temperature in Kolkata recorded at 21.3 degrees Celsius is six degrees higher than the normal range. Previously, the minimum temperature fluctuated between 13 to 14 degrees Celsius till Tuesday-Wednesday.
Simultaneously, the maximum temperature, standing at 26.6 degrees Celsius, aligns with the normal range, effectively dissipating the prevailing cold conditions. The regions encompassing Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura, Malda, Murshidabad, and Jhargram are experiencing temperatures between 19 to 25 degrees Celsius, contributing to the disappearance of the cold sensation.
This weather trend is extending to Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong in North Bengal, marking a gradual return to normalcy. The forecast indicates that similar weather conditions will persist for the next 24 to 72 hours.
